一門新課Great Writing

絕大部分的孩子從來沒有系統(tǒng)學習過寫作，大家都是憑借自己或多或少的英語積累只寫KET,PET的習題里的作文題目。

他們可以完成考試的任務嗎？其實大部分孩子經(jīng)過上備考班學習，KETPET的寫作題是基本可以及格的，其他方面取決于語法和詞匯。有些語法錯誤實在不忍直視，那么及格的可能性更低一些。其他語法基本功較好的學生把握會更好。 

可是這就證明了真的懂得寫作了？ 

劍橋考試是一個非?？茖W的測試系統(tǒng)， 在寫作這一板塊，會出對應等級的寫作能力。 

例如在PET 階段的寫作能力要求， 可以參看B1 對應的寫作要求， 而不是盯著PET題目里的題， 應該觀看整體性要求:

1. letters/ emails 郵件

2. articles : 文章--- describing people 描繪人物， describing places/ buildings 描繪建筑和地點， describing objects 描述物品， describing festivals/ events/ celebrations 描述節(jié)日和慶典活動

3. narratives 敘事文 ----first-person narratives 第一人稱敘事文， third-person narratives 第三人稱敘事文。

4. opinion essays 觀點性議論文

有沒有發(fā)現(xiàn)這里的要求幾乎就是PET作文的各類題型，所以在本階段，學生最好是真正達到B1水平和相應能力。

Great Writing大寫作屬于很廣義上的寫作課， 所以涵蓋的內容非常多， 非常精細，這也是其他寫作教程所沒有的。其他很多教材上來就是目的性的寫作，當然短期內比較合適，但是我們同時需要一個長期，細致的寫作教程。 

今天拿GW第一課為例子展示一下如何教學。

這是GW2里提供的一段寫作文段。 

書上并沒有講解什么， 所以如果是自己看， 很有可能就看一遍并沒感受學到什么。 

那么我們可以從這個文段中學到什么？

對比句型的寫作訓練和舉一反三

不難看出整個文段用了很多表示對比的句型，也是絕大部分學生缺乏的， 寫作的時候只會一味不停的亂寫。其實有時候可以運用對比， 寫作的效果會更佳。

最簡單的對比句型 but 和while 

狗狗可以被訓練得很快，有些只需幾分鐘，就能服從基本的命令，比如“過來”和“坐下”。，但是大多數(shù)貓都很難訓練。

Dogs can be trained quickly, some in a matter of minutes, to obey basic commands like ‘come' and ‘sit.' ， but most cats are difficult to be trained. 

此處but可以改為while, in contrast , on the other hand. (后兩者在這里需要將逗號改為句號）

我們可以看看大部分的文章里都含有對比的寫法。

 when 某些時候也可以表示對比， 查下詞典就看到了when的這種用法。

in contrast toXXX句型的舉一反三

定義：If one thing is in contrast to another, it is very different from it. 與…截然不同

舉一反三：

相比電影的視覺享受，我更喜歡閱讀文字。

In contrast to visual enjoyment of films, I am more fond of reading words.

與北京的國家歷史名勝相比，廣州有更多的地方文化。

In contrast to the national historic interests in Beijing , GZ has more local cultures.

與大城市快節(jié)奏的生活相比，我家鄉(xiāng)的生活要輕松得多。

In contrast to the fast life pace in big cities, life in my hometown is much more relaxed.

while 的用法和舉一反三

while:  used to contrast two things （對比兩件事物）…而，…然而

湯姆很擅長科學，而他弟弟卻只對藝術感興趣。

While Tom's very good at science, his brother is only into art. 

Tom's very good at science while his brother is only into art. 

舉一反三：

She is very outgoing while he is rather quiet.

However的用法

while 表示轉折，其意為“可是”“仍然”等?？煞旁诰涫住⒕渲谢蚓淠?。格式上，通常用逗號與句子其他成分隔開。

My room is small; however, it’s comfortable. 

注意，however不能像 but（但是）那樣直接連接兩個句子。

注意看下面however 的正確用法：

誤：We all tried our best, however we lost the game.

正：We all tried our best, but we lost the game.

正：We all tried our best; however, we lost the game.

正：We all tried our best. However, we lost the game.

Difference between US and UK has many layers as even the English spoken in both countries differ. The US is expanded as the United States whereas the UK is expanded as the United Kingdom. Both are western countries with a remarkable influence on the global affair. However, one could say that UK was the emperor of the world in the past while US is the unofficial emperor of the world at present. This is due to the power they exercise over the rest of the world.

美國和英國之間的差異有很多層面，就連兩國說的英語也不同。美國為美國而英國擴大范圍至聯(lián)合王國。這兩個國家都是對全球事務具有顯著影響力的西方國家。然而，有人可以說，英國是過去世界的霸主，而美國是現(xiàn)在世界霸主。這是由于他們對世界其他地方行使的權力決定的。

What is the difference between US and UK?

英國的全稱為大不列顛及北愛爾蘭聯(lián)合王國，被大西洋、北海、英吉利海峽和愛爾蘭海環(huán)繞。然而，美利堅合眾國，即美國，位于太平洋和大西洋之間，北部與加拿大接壤，南部與墨西哥接壤。

The United Kingdom is governed by a parliamentary system with a constitutional monarchy while US is a federal constitutional republic.

英國實行君主立憲制的議會制度，而美國是聯(lián)邦立憲制共和國。

US has a President while UK has a Prime Minister with the monarch.

美國有總統(tǒng)，而英國有首相和君主。

US exports capital goods, automobiles, consumer goods, etc.while UK exports manufactured goods, fuels, chemicals, etc.

美國出口資本貨物、汽車、消費品等，而英國出口制成品、燃料、化學品等。
